Diagnostics

That warning light on your dashboard? We'll tell you exactly what it means—and exactly what it needs.

VEHICLE ELECTRONICS

We Diagnose Every Warning Light You're Facing

The most common—and most feared. Could be a loose fuel cap. Could be a failing catalytic converter. We read the code, then test the component. You pay for the fix, not the guesswork.

If your ABS light stays on, your anti-lock brakes may not activate in an emergency. We diagnose wheel speed sensors, hydraulic pumps, and control modules.

An illuminated airbag light usually means a fault in the system. In an accident, it may not deploy. We scan the SRS module and pinpoint the exact sensor or circuit failure.

Vans clog up. DPFs need regen. AdBlue systems fail. We perform forced regenerations, DPF cleaning, and AdBlue injector diagnostics. Cheaper than a new DPF.

Slow crank? Battery light flickering? We test your battery health, alternator output, and parasitic draws. No more replacing batteries that weren’t the problem.

Automatic transmission slipping? Manual gearbox whining? We scan the TCU (Transmission Control Unit) for fault codes you won’t see on a basic code reader.

Diagnostic Specialists

Your Dashboard Warning Light Just Met Its Match.

Modern cars and vans are computers with engines. Up to 70 electronic control units (ECUs) manage everything from fuel injection to parking sensors.

When one of those computers detects a fault, it turns on a warning light. But the light itself doesn’t tell you what’s wrong—it just says “something needs attention.”

At Albion Auto Services, we don't guess. We diagnose.

Using dealer-level diagnostic scanners for all major makes, we plug directly into your vehicle’s brain, read the fault codes, and interpret the data. No parts-cannon. No replacing components that weren’t broken. Just precise, honest fault-finding.

Based at Albion Mills, Bradford (BD10), we’re the local specialists Bradford van and car owners trust when the dashboard looks like a Christmas tree.

Common Questions

Diagnostics Questions—Answered by Our Master Technicians

Sometimes it's a minor sensor glitch. Sometimes it's something that will leave you stranded tomorrow. The light means the ECU has detected a fault—it's always worth knowing what that fault is. We can check it in under 30 minutes.

You can. A £20 reader will give you a five-digit code. But that code doesn't tell you which component is actually faulty—it tells you which circuit the fault is in. We have dealer-level software that reads manufacturer-specific codes and live data parameters. We don't just read the code; we diagnose the problem.

We can, but that's like taking a battery out of a smoke alarm instead of putting out the fire. The light will almost certainly come back on. We'd rather fix the underlying issue so you never see it again.

Yes. Our diagnostic equipment covers hybrid systems, battery pack health, and electric motor controllers. High-voltage systems require specialist training—our technicians are fully certified.

Possibly, but not always. A blocked DPF is common, but the fault could also be a pressure sensor, temperature sensor, or failed regeneration cycle. We'll test the system properly before recommending a £1000+ DPF replacement.

Usually 30–60 minutes depending on the complexity. If we need to replicate an intermittent fault that only happens when the engine is hot, it may take longer. We'll always give you a time estimate when you book in.
